Interlink's Essential Management Skills Program

This program is available to organisations throughout Australian and New Zealand. It is designed as a cost effective management program for small to medium sized businesses who want to give their Managers a foundation to build and develop essential management skills.

The EMS Development Project is divided into five (5) parts.

The program content is tailored for an organisations particular needs and can include the following;

INTRODUCTION
Now more than ever an organization's survival depends on its ability to cope with external and internal changes. To cope with these dynamic social, technological and political changes, Managers are compelled to acquire new knowledge, skills, attitudes and perspectives on a continual basis.

The Essential Management Skills (EMS) program has been developed to address the specific requirements of organisations in equipping Managers with the skills required to achieve personal and organizational goals.

The EMS program incorporates the development of the eight (8) essential skills of highly effective Managers (Karpin, 1995, Carlopio, 1997; Robbins et al 1998; Dessler et al 1999). These are;

As Head of Development and Senior Consultant, Margaret Thonemann is responsible for program research and development and; specializes in Management skill development. Margaret's Management development focus commenced in 1991 and since commencement she has consulted to a broad range of organizations in industries as diverse as financial services, transport, welfare & community groups and government sectors. Margaret's managerial experience and consultancy expertise facilitate a keen understanding of the managerial role and the skills required for success. As a complement to the latter, Margaret is currently researching managerial strategies implemented for success as part of her Ph.D. studies.
